Open Practice from the home page, choose what to study, and play.
Starting a run
- Pick your supertopics and filters. Advanced filters opens 20+ subtopics.
- Choose how long you get to buzz, or turn the timer off.
- Pick a game mode and start.
The moderator reads the question while the text types out. Buzz with Space or by clicking the question, then type your answer and press Enter. Multiple choice questions take W X Y Z.
Answer checking
Answers are graded in your browser by AtomCorrect, which forgives typos and spelling variants. Turn it off in Settings to mark your own answers with R (right) and W (wrong).
Scoring

Rounds alternate tossup and bonus. You get a few seconds to type after buzzing; it is longer than the official 2 seconds because typing is slower than speaking.
After a miss
- Ask Tutor opens a chat that explains the question. See Tutor and Generate.
- Look up the answer opens a web search built from the question's key words and the answer. Websites cannot read your browser's default search engine, so Atom Bowl guesses from your browser. Change it in Settings under Look up answers with.
- Send to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini opens that app with the question and your answer. Choose the app in Settings under Send missed questions to. Gemini cannot be prefilled, so the prompt is copied for you to paste.
